Ari Karen is an experienced litigator who has focused his practice in representing financial institutions in both government investigations and litigation before state and federal trial and appellate courts nationwide. Mr. Karen’s practice is diverse, representing clients on matters concerning banking regulations, Dodd Frank financial reform laws, contractual disputes, employment and labor statutes, wage-hour class actions, employment discrimination and fair lending matters, whistleblower complaints and non-competition claims, among others.

Mr. Karen speaks regularly on topics affecting all types of lenders including fair lending and disparate impact, LO compensation, marketing service agreements, compliance with social media, non QM lending, vendor management, and much more. Mr. Karen is a principal in the Financial Institutions Regulatory and Labor and Employment practice groups of the Offit Kurman law firm.

Jessica Parson joined SCP as our Application Trainer in October of 2013. She has since moved into the role of Chief Operating Officer and go-to woman for all things technology. Jessica has over 12 years of experience in systems and training, getting her start within the mortgage industry a little over 8 years ago. Jessica graduated from Western International University with an Associates in Accounting. Her ability to predict technology trends, create efficient procedures and remain calm in almost all situations has made her the COO our team couldn’t do without!

In her spare time, Jessica enjoys being crafty and traveling to the beach.

Lauren Jerome joined SCP as our Account Executive in 2020. Lauren has over 3 years of experience in Sales getting her start as a Business Development Associate. Lauren graduated from The University of Kansas with a Bachelors’s degree in Strategic Communications.

In her spare time, Lauren enjoys traveling and her golden retriever, Finley 😊

Scott joined SCP in 2021 as our fearless Compliance Director. He is an accomplished financial services executive experienced in strategic planning, organizational development, compliance management, and new business development. He has exceptional business acumen developed from over two decades of senior officer roles within the mortgage industry.

Scott enjoys ultralight backpacking, mountain biking, kayaking, and Jeeping – all things outdoors.

Melissa is a dedicated compliance leader that specializes in creating environments where adherence to all federal, state and regulatory requirements enables companies and organizations to protect themselves and absolve risk. Melissa has a knack for implementing and leading companywide compliance management systems, all while reducing expenses through the streamlining of processes and procedure enhancements. She is integral in finding solutions for our broker-owners, whether they are just starting out or looking to scale.

Melissa enjoys personal development, strength training, being outdoors and spending time with her family.

Harry is a veteran mortgage industry professional with over two decades of experience in the field. He specializes in helping organizations adhere to federal, state and regulatory guidelines while minimizing their operational risk. Harry was instrumental in analyzing and validating loan data, ensuring compliance with HMDA and NMLS MCR requirements.

When Harry isn’t working hard at his job, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and dog, taking walks and playing a game of golf. He also loves to play board games with family or friends for some friendly competition.

Megan is a results-driven professional dedicated to delivering superior results while fostering a highly productive work environment. Megan has expertise in maintaining quality control standards and compliance expectations in high-pressured ever-changing settings. Megan joined SCP in 2021 and brings with her 10+ years of compliance experience with a specialization in State Licensing. 

In her spare time, Megan enjoys teaching yoga, surfing, and hiking with her husband and daughter at their home in Hawaii.

Not afraid to take no for an answer and ready to decipher any dilemma. In my free time, I am a BIG Foodie, animal lover, and avid beach goer.
